50 SHADES OF GREEN

Soft Systems was asked to design a garden for a private residence in Toronto, Canada. The brief was to incorporate a large flexible lawn area, and to fill the edges with woody shrubs, hedges and ornamental trees that would retain their character throughout the seasons. A large number of boxwoods were donated to the owner, which became the guiding principle of the design. The garden became an opportunity to explore vegetation in endless hues of green, to create a lush downtown sanctuary that required as a little fussy maintenance as possible.
