DRYSTONE WALLS
Drystone walls are monumental constructions that are flexible to the conditions of an ever-changing environment. In the winter, the ground heaves, pushing the walls up. Accumulated water freezes in the cracks and moves the stones around. In the spring, the ground thaws and the walls relax back into place, settling into an ever-stronger, more resilient matrix. These walls are great options for riverside erosion control, as they hold back the soil but allow water to filter through.
